How to Choose a Birthday Neon Sign
A birthday sign is the cheapest way to make a rented room feel thrown: one glowing line and suddenly there is a theme, a backdrop and a keepsake. Choose by the age on the cake and where the party actually happens.

1 · Name, age, or both
The custom math is simple: name plus age is the most photographed combination – it personalizes the backdrop and dates the photos in one line. Name alone is the reusable play: buy it once, hang it every year, let the cake carry the age. Age alone, in big numerals, is the milestone move – a glowing 21 or 50 needs no other decoration to say what the night is. When in doubt, order the name-and-age custom and reprint the number next year. A trick from party planners: order the age numerals oversized and the name in script beneath – the number does the shouting, the name does the charming, and the photos get both.
2 · Milestone birthdays

6 · Size for the room
Size follows the guest count more than the room. Living-room parties (under twenty guests) read best at 20–32 inches – the sign shares the wall with everything else.
